Dancing Queens

One of my favorite things lately is when Audrey hears a ballad on either the TV or the computer and asks, "May I have this dance?" How can you say no to a cute little two year old that asks like that! Audrey has also taken an interest in scatting. When we listen to "I Wanna Be Like You" and "The Bare Necessities" from the Jungle Book movie, she loves the scatting parts. I think my favorite part from "The Bare Necessities" is when she comes in with Baloo singing: "A zap don roney, like a singing of dop don rone" (I really have no clue what he sings there except "roney" and "rone".) Oh, I didn't mention "We're Your Friends". In this barbershop quarter song, Audrey covers both the lead tenor and the echo parts. It's hilarious. At the end of the song when Sher Khan sings really low, Audrey bows her head because she thinks it will help her sing lower.

Last night when I got home, Kate was smiling so big at me. The Jungle Book was on the TV at the Bare Necessities part. I picked up Kate and started dancing with here and she couldn't stop smiling. We had so much fun. Those are times when you can't measure how good it is to be a dad.

Techie blog

So I decided, with Nick's encouragement, to start a technology/development-related blog. That way, for anyone that is reading this blog, they won't get bombarded by code and something they don't care about.

The new blog is located at http://blog.scottsbaldwin.com/dev and I have invited Bernd and Nick to contribute to it -- because they are much smarter than me. Bernd is going to be an MBA soon.

Tulips

I love spring. I love waking up in the morning to the sounds of birds. All of the sudden the trees turn from brown and bare to budding and flowering. The trees outside our apartment magically flowered with white all over them.

Yesterday the sky was clear and the sun was out (80 degrees) so we decided to go to the Tulip Festival at Thanksgiving Point. Here are some pictures from yesterday, plus one of Audrey at Temple Square.

I think Audrey got a little too much sun yesterday. Her face was instantly red when we got to Thanksgiving Point. This morning she isn't feeling too great so I'll be staying home from church with the girls while Jeana goes with her parents.
