Acquisition of a Burley

Thanks to Michelle and Brian, we now own a Burley. We have now been able to take the girls running with us. It is so fun to get out again together. Here's a shot of us with the Audrey and Kate after getting back from our run:

My picture doesn't look as good. I must have been really sleepy after the run. Actually, I was battling an issue with my nose at the time. It was weighing me down.

I hooked the Burley to my bike and took Audrey out last Saturday. I still think it's too bumpy for Kate. She'd be bouncing all over the place. I'm thinking after another month Kate will be ready to keep her noggen in place good enough to fight the bumpy ride.

Now, if I can just fix Jeana's bike...

Six Appeal

Jeana and I had an awesome day last Saturday climbing in Big Cottonwood Canyon! We decided to climb Six Appeal, our old standby. This was our first outdoor climb for the season so we wanted something we were comfortable with to get warmed up. The weather was so nice and the sky was clear. We got there around 1pm and two guys were just leaving Six Appeal. We had the rock alone to ourselves for the rest of the afternoon.

First of all, I uploaded our pictures to my gallery page: http://www.scottsbaldwin.com/gallery/scottandjeana. If you don't have access to it, email me and I can get you a login.

I started of by leading it. It worked me. When I finally got to the top I was relieved to see that the chains have been replaced since I last led this climb.

I was so impressed with Jeana. After clipping into the first bolt on her lead, she sliced her index finger open on a piece of shale. She finished the lead and showed me her finger. I couldn't believe it! It was so bad. I climbed again after her lead and took this picture of the rock where she made a major blood sacrifice to the rock.

I'm so anxious to get out and climb again! Here's a shot of Jeana on belay at the bottom of Six Appeal. She's so tough. I'm so lucky to have such an awesome wife!
