Graduation has Happened

I'm sure this will be the first of many blogs about the first Neumont University graduation ceremony and meeting with visitors from IBM. The Deseret News contained the following article recapping the events of yesterday. Click here to read the article.

Michelle clipped and scanned the article as well as pictured here.

Brad also blogged the event and posted a link to an MP3 of my speech at graduation. Click here to read Brad's blog.

Neumont Graduation on Friday

I finished school in the middle of March and Friday, the 26th, is our graduation ceremony. The graduation proceedings start with a nice dinner at Spencer's on Thursday night and then continue on Friday afternoon at the Rose Wagner performing arts center in Salt Lake.

Neumont University issued a press release about this week's event. Governor (UT) Jon Hunstman, Jr. and IBM Executive Vice President (Innovation and Technology) Nicholas Donofrio will both address the graduates.

Graham Doxey, the president of Neumont, said "Neumont University honors its graduates who are all great achievers and set the bar high for others to follow." That's funny because we always joked about raising the bar for each other on our assignments.

Google Analytics

First of all, I love Google! I finally received my activitation invitation for Google Analytics, which is a sweet dashboard system showing web site traffic and metrics. I signed up for it last fall and finally got the invitation just now.

I went in and setup my web site and my blog sites to gather traffic data. So, now I just need everyone to come visit my site!

Life History of Thelma Beattie

Brad asked if I had audio of Grandma, Thelma Beattie, like Grandpa's that I posted yesterday. I have two long MP3 files that I haven't chopped up into tracks yet. The first MP3 is 28:15 in length and the second is 15:39. The quality of the recording is much better than Grandpa's and there is much less background noise.

Click here to download the zipped files (38MB).

Audrey is now a 3 year old!

We went to Rexburg for Audrey's 3rd birthday this last weekend. Even though her birthday was yesterday, we celebrated it on Saturday so she could have more fun with her toys since we'd be in the car a lot yesterday. I've posted pictures to a new gallery page on my web site. Click here to see the pictures. Here are a couple to get you excited.

Life of Theone Beattie

I finally completed the transcription of my grandpa's, Theone Beattie, life history for my mom. He dictated in his High Priest Group in his ward before he died.

I have created a few artifacts that may be of interest:

Bindable PDF (4.3MB). Print this PDF on 8.5" x 11" paper (landscape orientation). Cut the print out down the middle, take it to Kinkos, and bind it with a cool black spiral binding.

On-screen viewing PDF (4.3MB). This PDF is 5.5" wide and 8.5" tall. This PDF is the actual size of the printed booklet. Great for reading on the computer.

CD Sleeve (1.8MB). Print this PDF on 8.5" x 11" paper or card stock. Cut on the crop marks, fold, and insert into your jewel case.

Companion MP3 audio tracks (28.4MB). These MP3 files are the source of the life history taken from a copy of the original tape.
