Finally, an Ubuntu Screenshot

I finally got around to booting into my Ubuntu today. I tried to get the skydome feature working but have had no luck yet. I did find a cool image of the Tetons though in the process. I love the 3D cube feature and decided to take a screenshot to demonstrate how cool this is. You can see that I'm connecting to a Windows server (took no effort) -- now if I could only get Visual Studio installed on a shared server, I could go completely to Ubuntu.

Podcasts

So, I don't know where I've been the last little while to not be partaking of the podcasting technology. I discovered some good content yesterday and now I love podcasting. I went to http://www.podcast.net/ and was browsing the technology podcasts when I found that developerWorks has a podcasting series. I subscribed to the dW podcasts and listened to Grady Booch and an interview with the leader of the Eclipse project.

I also found that Bob Sutor (IBM's vice president of standards and open source) does his own podcast series. I met Bob at Neumont University a few months ago and he sat down with me for half an hour. I had dinner with him recently as part of the Neumont graduation events. I really liked visiting with Bob. I listened to his four-part series on "Open Standards vs. Open Source" and I highly recommend it. When he visited at Neumont recently, he gave a brown-bag presentation about his wishlist for technology in 2006. He has made his wishlist available via podcast, but my iTunes can't retrieve it. However you can still listen to it via this URL. Thanks Bob for the good content!

Moroni in San Antonio

I just discovered a web page showing the construction photos of the San Antonio Texas temple. I decided to include a couple here because I thought they were cool.
