Words for 2006-12-27

Bob Sutor does a daily post of links he finds useful or interesting to him. I have started reading a new book, and in the first few pages I have discovered words which I was not familiar with. I figured that I would do something similar to Bob Sutor and list words which I am learning.

Here are the words for today:
  1. intransigent (adj) - refusal to compromise or to abandon an extreme position
  2. procurator (noun) - an agent, or one of the Roman empire entrusted with management of provincial financial affairs
  3. legates (noun) - official emissaries, or agents
