Included in Forbes Magazine

The new issue of Forbes was published recently and they were gracious enough to include a paragraph about me. To view the article online, you have to sign up as a member of the Forbes web site. I've uploaded a PDF as well for those who don't have a membership to Forbes.com.

Neumont Graduation in the Deseret News

I posted something about the inaugural graduation ceremony for Neumont University in my other blog and forgot to include a link here to Erin Stewart's (of the Deseret News) article. She was even nice enough to quote me. Click here to read the article.

SourceForge.net Click-Throughs

So I was just out at SourceForge.net and saw an advert for Neumont University. When I clicked the link I ended up at http://www.neumont.edu/ostg/, which is the information request page on Neumont's site. I was surprised to see my picture on there! For the time being, all traffic coming from SourceForge will see my picture! Kind of exciting.

Digital IQ Magazine

Earlier this month, Digital IQ Magazine reported an article very similar to the press release on Neumont's web site. This article quoted me saying:

Neumont graduate Scott Baldwin, who accepted an offer from IBM as a WebSphere consultant, interrupted his IT career to attend Neumont University. "Giving up an excellent job to go back to school was a big risk," said Baldwin. "Neumont's accelerated Bachelors degree, project-based learning and connections to even better job and salary prospects made the risk worth taking."

Julie Blake, the marketing person from Neumont, sent over a quote and asked for my approval. It originally said something giving up Spring Break was a big sacrifice for the accelerated bachelor's degree. I emailed her back and told her that I didn't care about things like Spring Break, but that I was giving up a good job.

Graduates Average Two Job Offers and Salary of $60,700

Neumont issued a press release on April 3rd promoting their first graduating class--of which I'm glad to part of. I'm quoted in this press release, along with Grady Booch.
